U.S. culture
The U.S. culture has a great influence in the world, especially in the western world. The American music is heard around the world, and the movies and television shows Americans are known to almost everyone. Here there is a sharp contrast with the early days of the republic when the country was seen as an agricultural area with little to offer the culturally advanced world centers of Asia and Europe. With little more than two centuries old, almost all major U.S. cities offer facilities and performances of classical and popular music, Contemporary Christian Music (CCM - Christian Music Contemporany) and Gospel music (a term used in Brazil for the Contemporary Christian Music ), centers of historical research, science and art and museums, dance performances, musicals and plays, as well as outdoor events and architecture of international significance. This development is the result of contributions from either private philanthropists or government funding. The United States is also a major center of higher education, with more than 1,500 universities, colleges (colleges) and other institutions of higher learning, whose best examples are among the most prestigious and advanced institutions in the world.CinemaThe cinema of the United States of America, as well as a specific form of cultural expression of a people, is also one of the most successful entertainment industries in the world. While not all films in the United States of America are produced in Hollywood, the town became synonymous with this national industry. The influence of American cinema in the world is overwhelming and remains generally as a reference for the public that, in general, prefers to film this movie in your country vick.LiteratureThe literature of the United States of America can be considered part of English literature or as a distinct literary branch. The American literature owes much to the original shapes and styles originating in Europe. for example, "Wieland" and other novels by Charles Brockden Brown (1771-1810) based directly on the Gothic novels that were written then in England. Even the impeccably woven narratives by Washington Irving (1783-1859) - mainly Rip Van Winkle and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow - seem clearly European though the action unfolds in the New World. All of this is shown in the movie 'Q' of William Shakespeare.TheatreThe theater in the United States of America is based in the Western tradition, mostly borrowed from the styles of performance that prevailed in Europe at the time of its introduction in the country. Today is strongly intertwined with literature, film, television and American music and its not uncommon to be retold the same story in all these forms. Regions with significant music scenes often have strong theater and comedy traditions as well. Musical theater may be the most popular form: it is certainly more lively way of theater and the choreography hit the stage just going for television and movies. Today's theaters are together with the music. The places are very crowded theater, because parts are funny, romantic or even a real life.Visual artsThe visual arts in the U.S. are mostly contemporary, although the country is one of those who have a greater collection of artistic productions of various periods, the fruit of economic growth.Several museums, scattered across the country, concentrated important collections of works of art, especially in New York City.Graphic design, for example, has creators in comics history, and this influenced the painter and filmmaker Andy Warhol American.CuisineThere is a national cuisine, unique in the country - the current American cuisine is highly diverse, varying from region to region, depending on the population and culture of the region.Common foods of the North American breakfast is scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, cereal and bread with peanut butter, served with coffee or juice, and bagel mufins. In most cases, the juice is orange. Lunch is light of Americans - the reasons are the limited time available for lunch for the workers and students. Lunch can be simple as to be composed of a single sandwich. Dinner is, in most families Americans, the main dish of the day.The United States is the largest consumer of coffee in the world. Many Americans drink coffee in the morning, drink coffee and several at work. In addition, the U.S. is also the largest consumers of soft drinks in the world. The United States is famous worldwide for its fast-foods. The Americans often had lunch at fast-foods, just because of the limited time available for workers for lunch - and because of low prices of products offered.
